Giorgos Papamitrou was born in Athens in 1979. He studied guitar with Tasos Papadakis (degree, 2003) and composition with Nikos Drelas (composition diploma, 2010). He has attended circles of classes and seminars in music for cinema and theatre, contemporary piano, music for media, electronic Instruments and electroacoustic composition.
He is working as a guitar teacher in private lessons and as a computer teacher at schools. He has written music for large and small ensembles, for solo instruments and orchestra. His works have played in concerts, festivals and competitions finals (Europe, USA). The works of Giorgos Papamitrou have been recorded on CDs available on labels such as Sarton Records and Phasma-Music. His music is published by Universal Edition (printed and digital version), and SheetMusicPlus and MusicaNeo (only digital version).
